White House Screening of “Thurgood”

As part of its 2011 Black History Month celebration, the White House featured a screening of “Thurgood”. Filmed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., “Thurgood” is an autobiographical one-man play about the life of Civil Rights lawyer, Supreme Court Justice and NBA Judicial Council member, Thurgood Marshall. The film stars Laurence Fishburne who delivers a powerful, Tony-nominated performance. “Thurgood” was written by Academy Award® and Emmy® Award winner George Stevens, Jr. and directed by Emmy® Award winner Michael Stevens.
